Pollinator’s Paradise Collection - Dahlia Tubers
Invite the magic of a humming, vibrant garden into your landscape with our curated Open-Centered Varieties. While many dahlias hide their nectar behind dense layers of petals, these "open" beauties—ranging from silky Singles and whimsical Collarettes to the dramatic Incurved Cactus types—roll out the red carpet for your favorite pollinators.
Why you’ll love growing them:
A Bee’s Best Friend: These varieties are absolute "bee magnets," providing easy, non-stop access to pollen and nectar from sunrise to sunset.
Nature’s Canvas: Because their golden centers are exposed, they are the perfect varieties for saving your own seed. If you’ve ever dreamed of "breeding" your own unique dahlia variety, these are your starting point!
Abundant Garden Color: We love planting these in large, effortless clumps. They create a "sea of blooms" that feels wild, joyful, and completely alive.
🌱 Growing Info
Dahlias thrive in full sun and warm soil (above 50°F). Depending on how many you intend to plant you can either dig a trench or individual holes. Place tubers about 4-6” deep horizontally with the eye/sprout facing up (if visible) and cover lightly with soil. If potting up indoors first, you can plant with neck above the soil line so you can monitor sprouting. Avoid watering until shoots emerge to prevent rot. Once established, they’ll bloom nonstop until frost.
