Nicholas is a towering, self-supporting masterpiece that transforms your rows into a golden-hour hedgerow. With blooms that tilt skyward like glowing suns, this variety brings the serene beauty of a waterlily pond to the heights of your summer field.
Bloom Size: Medium (4-6”)
Form: Waterlily
Color Story: A tri-color spectacle of soft melon-orange and peach, transitioning into warm honey and sometimes a rust-red or plum center. It looks meticulously hand-painted with an internal glow.
Best For: Amazing blooms that shine upward and strong, straight stems that make it a favorite for flower arrangers
Vase Life: 4-7 days
Notes: Our only waterlily form currently, this one stands out from the pack. These are consistently some of our largest and sturdiest plants. We have created hedgerows with this variety that required little staking to stay upright which is impressive as most are over 5’ tall.
Dahlias thrive in full sun and warm soil (above 50°F). Depending on how many you intend to plant you can either dig a trench or individual holes. Place tubers about 4-6” deep horizontally with the eye/sprout facing up (if visible) and cover lightly with soil. If potting up indoors first, you can plant with neck above the soil line so you can monitor sprouting. Avoid watering until shoots emerge to prevent rot. Once established, they’ll bloom nonstop until frost.
