Camano Mordor Dahlia Tuber
Camano Mordor has a name straight out of a fantasy epic, and the bloom lives up to it. With intense, molten tones, sturdy stems, and dependable vase life, it’s one I can’t stop growing.
Variety Details
Bloom Size: Small (3-5”)
Form: Ball
Color Story: Dark ruby-mahogany with smoky depth; rich, smoldering, and dramatic
Best For: Fiery palettes & market bouquets
Vase Life: 4-7 days
Notes: The name is just plain fun to say, and as someone who loves the structured, geometric look of ball forms, this one gets me every time. I’m also completely enamored with ombré blooms, and Camano Mordor’s fiery fade is endlessly satisfying. If you like a bloom that brings both drama and precision, this one won’t disappoint.
🌱 Growing Info
Dahlias thrive in full sun and warm soil (above 50°F). Depending on how many you intend to plant you can either dig a trench or individual holes. Place tubers about 4-6” deep horizontally with the eye/sprout facing up (if visible) and cover lightly with soil. If potting up indoors first, you can plant with neck above the soil line so you can monitor sprouting. Avoid watering until shoots emerge to prevent rot. Once established, they’ll bloom nonstop until frost.
